Juventus winger Di Maria denies rumors about World Cup rest request

Ahead of the November Qatar World Cup, Di Maria rubbishes rumors that claimed the 34-year-old has asked his new club to rest him for his last World Cup.

Angel Di Maria

made a free transfer to

Juventus

last summer after departing Paris Saint-Germain following his contract expiration.

Although after his move the

Argentine

insisted that his focus will remain on the Bianconeri and his priority won’t change until the kick-off of the World Cup, many rumors suggested that Di Maria and

Leandro Paredes

have asked Juventus to be left out of their Serie A clash with Lazio on November 13 to avoid a late injury.

However, the former Real Madrid star rubbished the suggestions as "fake news" in

an Instagram story

. Playing five games for Juve so far this season, the Argentine has contributed one goal and one assist as the winger is eager to re-bounce after the direct red card he received in Juventus’ 1-0 loss to

Monza

.

Di Maria

will miss Juventus’ action against Bologna and Milan as he was issued a straight red card for violent behavior during Juve’s last game before the international break as he launched an elbow into the ribs of Monza’s defender, Armando Izzo.

After Argentina's friendly game against Jamaica on Tuesday, the Juventus duo will return to Turin ahead of Juventus' Sunday clash against

Bologna
