“Immobile is not in terrible condition, but we don’t want to risk him because we hope to get him back for Monday. We’ll make do with the players we have,”

Mancini said to RAI Sport. "

I expect a great game of football, because it’s always a special event between Italy and England.”

As a result of Azzurri's failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the fans are enraged and have not attended this Nations League match in large numbers.

“I think what we achieved before should help us to get through these difficult months. We always tried to give our best and play good football. Unfortunately, in sport there are moments when things don’t go your way and you suffer. Fortunately, this is only football.”

Mancini stated in his press conference that perhaps some players are too eager to withdraw from international duty at the first sign of a minor ache.

“Everyone should be happy to wear the Azzurri jersey at all times. The Nazionale is something extraordinary. We have young players who are proud to be here and can’t wait to play for their country.

“Admittedly, there are times in the season when there are too many games and long journeys, probably too many, and there is going to be fatigue. However, the Nazionale must be helped, otherwise we’ll have even more problems than we already do.”
