Rodri considers Tottenham as Man City's main rivals this season

While Liverpool had a terrible start to the new season, the Spurs have kept pace with City in the Premier League title race as Man City midfielder finds the Spurs their title rival this season.

Manchester City

started the season on the right foot and has shown strength, winning five games, drawing two, and sitting second on the Premier League table behind the league leaders Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte’s

Tottenham

is third-placed with the same points and the same record as City, divided by goal difference. Hailing Antonio Conte's work at North London, Man City midfielder

Rodri

considers Conte's side as their Premier League title rival.

Rodri told

Gazzetta dello Sport:

<em>

“[Tottenham] have put together a great squad and they have a manager who has very clear ideas and who knows how to convey them perfectly.

“They know what they have to do and they do it with great precision. I see the Spurs as candidates for the title. Conte’s career speaks for itself.”

Liverpool

was the closest Premier League rival to Manchester City throughout the past seasons. However, the Reds have been enduring a hard time.

Jurgen Klopp

’s side has only won two of their six games so far and sits eighth on the table, having only gained nine points.

On the Reds’ situation, the Spaniard said:

"The Premier League level is so high that as soon as you slow down, you lose points. Liverpool are not in crisis, they are just less effective, and the Premier League does not allow you to relax.”
