Gavi signed his first professional contract with Barcelona until 2026

The Spanish star extended his contract with the Catalan club for another 4 years.

Barcelona

midfielder

Gavi

extended his contract with this club until 2026.

The Spanish star was previously under contract with Barcelona B and thus signed his first professional contract with the club. He, who is 18 years old, was able to perform well in the Blaugrana team last season and played in 34 games. He had only 1 year left on his previous contract and the club decided to secure the Spanish star's future at the Camp Nou before he threatened them.

His previous contract was closed in 2020 and he was paid 100,000 euros per year, but after his brilliance in the first team, his representatives believed that Gavi should receive the same amount as

Pedri

and Fati.

According to the rules of the Spanish Football Federation, players under the age of 18 cannot sign a professional contract longer than three years. Therefore, Barca started negotiations after Gavi turned 18, and now he has a contract with the club until 2026.

Reports suggest that there will be a €1 billion release clause in his contract.

By scoring against the Czech Republic in June, Gavi became the youngest scorer in the history of Spain at the age of 17 years and 304 days.
