Brazil boss hits back at Mbappe's comments: "We don't have Azerbaijan"

The PSG forward suggested earlier that it's tougher for European teams to qualify for the World Cup than the South American sides. The Brazil boss who won Copa America last year insists the quality of football in the CONMEBOL region is as high as anywhere in the world.

Brazil

boss

Tite

told

ESPN

regarding Mbappe’s comments:

"Maybe he is talking about these Nations League clashes or European friendlies, but not World Cup qualifiers.

"We don't have, with all due respect, Azerbaijan to play. We don't have anyone that gives you a break.

"The qualifiers here have a much higher degree of difficulty than the group stage [of European qualifying]."

Kylian Mbappe

, who lifted the World Cup with France in 2018, added that football in South America "is not as developed as in Europe". The past four editions of the World Cup have been won by the European teams as12 of the previous 21 World Cups have been won by European teams.

Tite earlier hailed Mbappe and Messi saying they are the reasons Neymar is more effective for Brazil. Tite told reporters,

"Neymar is a bow and an arrow, depending on what's going on in the game.

" At PSG, he often plays a little deeper than Messi and Mbappe. Not in this case; he's more the target. He gets more rewards. In this way, the team works to give him this clarity and creativity. We have a team that works well together.”
