Ronaldo features in Man Utd pre-season under Ten Hag

The Portugal international featured at the beginning 45 minutes of Red Devils’ final pre-season game against Rayo Vallecano.

before the start the 2022-23 season.

The Portuguese striker told the club that he wants to depart Red Devils before the transfer window ended, but he did not find suitable suitors for his services.

He did not accompany his side in their pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia because of the family reasons. The 37-year-old was also absent when his side were defeated at the hands of Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

However, the club confirmed that he would play in Sunday’s game, as he was in the starting XI.

Ronaldo featured in the first half of the game but was later replaced by Amad Diallo, who met the back of the net soon after he was introduced.

Ronaldo seems unlikely to feature in the pre-season opener against Brighton next weekend as Ten Hag insisted that he was not “on the level” of his teammates.

"I cannot tell in this moment [how fit he is]. He is not on the level of the rest of the squad because he missed a lot of weeks. But he needs games and he needs training, a lot,"

he said following the defeat to Atletico.
