Milan target De Ketelaere out of Brugge squad

AC Milan target Charles De Ketelaere is not in the Club Brugge squad for their first match of the season.

Milan

has been in negotiating with

Brugge

over the transfer of

Charles De Ketelaere

in recent weeks but so far they could not reach an agreement. Brugge wants €35m for the midfielder but Milan has offered €30m plus another €2m in performance-related bonuses.

Both clubs are still in negotiations and the 21-year-old midfielder has been left out of Brugge 21-man squad. Brugge will play with KRC Genk in the first week of the Jupiler Pro League season on Sunday.

De Ketelaere also did not feature against KAA Gent in the Belgian Supercup match and was left on the bench.

Leeds United is also interested in signing De Ketelaere but like Milan, they have not been able to reach an agreement with Brugge and the midfielder would prefer a move to San Siro.

Milan technical director Paulo Maldini made the trip to Brugges last week to get the deal done but he was unable to get Brugges to drop their asking price.

De Ketelaere scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists for Brugge last season and was dubbed ‘the next Kevin De Bruyne’ by the Belgian media.
