Eddie Howe describes Newcastle's transfer policy

Eddie Howe explains Newcastle United's position on transfers while in Austria

Eddie Howe

has been talking to people in Austria about Newcastle United's plans to bring in new players. The Magpies' manager said that the team is trying to be flexible as they try to get better for the upcoming Premier League season.

Howe's team has gotten better with the additions of

Nick Pope

,

Sven Botman

, and

Matt Targett

, but Newcastle hasn't brought in an attacker yet this summer. Howe said after Newcastle beat 1860 Munich 3-0 on Friday: "I think we're looking at players, not necessarily one part of the team."

"I think it's important to be able to change. If we can't find the right player, I may have to look at other positions. We are looking at one or two players who could make the difference." Amanda Staveley said she wants to help make Newcastle United a "global business." The co-owner of

Newcastle

, a key player in the club's takeover last fall, was on a recent CSM panel where she talked about her plans for the club.

Staveley said, "We want to grow Newcastle into a global business." "That will require a lot of patience." After taking over the club, it was the most fantastic season. I don't know if any Newcastle fans are here, but we came on the 20th.

"We were backed to lose, so we didn't think, 'Global stage!' as our top priority." It was just, "Don't get sent down." Everything started to close in on us, and now,we see that we're safe and 11th.

"We want Newcastle to become a global brand, but for that to happen, we need to tell our story and get new fans." Malcolm Macdonald, a legendary striker for Newcastle United, is confused by the lack of transfer talk about forward Dwight Gayle, who seems likely to leave St. James' Park this summer.

Gayle didn't go to Austria with Newcastle for their two friendlies there. Instead, he stayed on Tyneside because he wasn't sure what his future would be. Gayle has been looked at, but his salary is a problem for a few Championship teams. And Macdonald thinks that all clubs in the Championship should try to sign Gayle, who he called "gold at that level."
