Laporta criticises Barcelona striker for his finishing ability

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has criticized Ferran Torres for his lack of goals.

Spanish reporter Joan Fontes has revealed on his podcast that

Barcelona

president Joan Laporta recently criticized

Ferran Torres

for his finishing ability.

According to Fontes, Laporta last week during a tribute ceremony to Johan Cruyff in front of a few journalists said:

“I like Pep and Txiki, but those bastards sold us Ferran Torres when he can’t score goals.”

Fontes claims on his podcast that people filmed Laporta when he said those statements but Barcelona later asked them to delete them.

The Spanish international joined Barcelona from

Manchester City

last January in a deal worth around €55 million initial fees with €10 million in add-ons. The Spaniard scored 16 goals while also recording four assists in 43 appearances in all competitions across his 18-month spell at City.

The 22-year-old forward scored 6 goals and provided 6 assists in 24 matches across all competitions for Barcelona but he received some backlash for missing chances and lack of clinical edge in front of goal.

Barcelona reportedly is close to an agreement with Ousmane Dembele over a contract extension and they also want to sign Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski.
