Riyad Mahrez is ready to talk about a deal with Manchester City

Riyad Mahrez has told Manchester City that he wants to stay with the team and is ready to sign a new contract

Manchester City

started contract talks with

Riyad Mahrez

, Gabriel Jesus, and

Raheem Sterling

at the end of the season. All three players' contracts are up in 2023.

But while Jesus, who is about to join

Arsenal

in a deal worth around £45 million, turned down new terms and Sterling is likely to do the same, Mahrez is ready to commit to the Premier League champions for the rest of his career.

The Algerian was in great shape during the 2021–22 season and scored the most goals of his four-year City career. He scored 24 goals in 47 games across all competitions, easily beating his previous best at the Etihad, which was 14 goals in 2020/21.

Teams from all over Europe are interested in Mahrez. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are just some of the teams that have shown interest. But 90min hears that the 31-year-old is very happy in the North West and wants to commit his future to Pep Guardiola's City, who have added

Erling Haaland

and

Julian Alvarez

to their already impressive attack.

It's thought that talks are going well and that City is ready to offer Mahrez a three-year deal with an option for an extra year. They hope to reach a deal before the season starts.
