Porto will sell Vitinha to Man Utd or Arsenal if release clause met

Porto president Pinto da Costa insist that Vitinha will only be sold this summer if his release clause is met.

Porto

star

Vitinha

has been linked with Manchester United and

Arsenal

in recent days.

Portugal international has a £35million release clause in his contract and the Porto president says he will only sell his star if the release clause is met. According to the reports in Portugal, only Arsenal is willing to meet his release clause.

Da Costa told reporters on Wednesday:

”There was a concrete offer, of considerable value, for

Vitinha that we did not accept,"

he said.

"And we referred them to the release clause, which is the only way to take our player.”

Arsenal has been heavily linked with Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans in recent weeks but it appears Porto midfielder is also on their radar.

United wants to sign Frenkie De Jong but Vitinha is a potential alternative as Eric Ten Hag looks to bolster his midfield.

The 22-year-old Vitinha played 30 games in the Portuguese Primeira Liga last season. He scored two goals and provided three assists. He ranked second among Porto players for successful passes (1,680) and third for chances created (42).
