Manchester United to play Rayo Vallecano in Ten Hag's first home game

Erik ten Hag's first game in charge of Manchester United at Old Trafford will be against Rayo Vallecano.

Manchester United

has confirmed their final pre-season friendly of the summer will be against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, July 31. This game is just a week before the new Premier League season begins. Rayo Vallecano finished 12th in La Liga last season.

Former Ajax manager Erik ten

Hag was appointed as the new United manager in April with a three-year contract.

John Murtough United's football director has said:

"Pre-season is all about preparation and this is a great opportunity for those squad members who may not have featured in some of our earlier tour and pre-season matches to get valuable minutes on the pitch – and where better to do this than Old Trafford?

"This will be the new manager's first match at Old Trafford, and I am sure the fans will provide him with a warm welcome."

Manchester United will begin their pre-season with a game against

Liverpool

in Bangkok, before facing Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace in Melbourne and Aston Villa in Perth.

Ten Hag's side will travel to Oslo as they face

Atletico Madrid

on July 30.
