Kroos opens up about interview rebuff: "I was just pi**** off at him"

Toni Kroos was furious with only an interviewer who questioned if Real Madrid had struggled following their Champions League victory against Liverpool.

Toni Kroos, a

Real Madrid

playmaker, has revealed why he was irritated by a reporter's questioning after the

Champions League

final on Saturday.

After assisting Real Madrid to a 1-0 win against

Liverpool

in Paris, Kroos added a fourth Champions League title to his trophy cabinet.

The 32-year-old made three tackles, won three fouls, and completed 77 of the 83 passes he took for Carlo Ancelotti's side (92.8).

In Liverpool's half, no Madrid player had more touches (92) or completed more passes (34), and Kroos was one of just five players to set up an opportunity for the

LaLiga

champions.

Madrid put up a strong counter-attacking performance, mopping up Liverpool's pressure, however, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was called upon to make nine saves, including spectacular saves from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

With Liverpool having 24 attempts on goal in all, that amount of saves is the highest in a Champions League final since Opta began collecting data in the 2003-04 season.

Kroos was asked if he was shocked by how much Madrid had endured in a post-match interview with a German journalist.

When the line of questions proceeded, the former Bayern Munich midfielder became irritated and refused to complete the interview, walked away from the reporter and declaring: Ninety minutes and you only come up with s***** questions."

Kroos expressed his dissatisfaction on the 'Einfach mal Luppen' podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Felix.

"At the time I was just p***** off. I was p***** off at him," Kroos said, as reported by AS.

"Of course we had [suffered]. They have to go through two or three phases of pressure, I also told him that when he asked the question.

"But that's normal. What do you expect? That we dominate Liverpool for 90 minutes? They are a world-class team. We had to beat them and that's what we did.

"I wouldn't have said we put them up against the wall from the first minute to the 90th minute.

"I'm the first to say that it was a close game and Liverpool probably had a few more chances. But we won the game, like in the last few months.

"But instead I hear that we won unfairly. I don't give a s*** in a final, you have to win it."
