Kamara pens a five-year deal with Aston Villa

Aston Villa have penned a contract with the 22-year-old for a five-year deal and he will join on a free transfer when his deal with Marseille reaches its end.

Boubacar Kamara

will make a move to

Aston Villa

after his deal with

Marseille

runs out. The midfielder has helped his side get

Champions League

qualification when they ended the Ligue 1 season sitting second on the table.

Kamara said:

"When I met with Steven [Gerrard], Christian [Purslow, chief executive] and Johan [Lange, sporting director] in my home I knew Aston Villa was for me. Their ambition and determination to succeed matches my own. I cannot wait for pre-season to get going."

Villa boss Steven Gerrard added:

"I am delighted that we have been able to attract one of the most promising young talents in European football.

"We have a very clear plan to make our team stronger and Bouba is an important part of that."

Aside from helping his side finish Ligue 1 season sitting second, Kamara helped Marseille reach the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League where they were defeated at the hands of Feyenoord.

Kamara is a product of the Marseille academy and has played in more that 100 games for the club. Villa have signed their second played of the summer with the first one being Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
