Drogba expected Egypt & Algeria to reach the World Cup

Egypt lost the World Cup ticket after penalty loss against Senegal.

African football legend Didier Drogba claimed that he believed that

Egypt

and

Algeria

would reach the World Cup, but considered the teams that qualified to be worthy.

In the African play-offs, Egypt played

Senegal

and Algeria faced Cameroon. Both teams had a good chance of winning the World Cup until the final moments of the game, but the Pharaohs lost on penalties and Cameron won with a goal in the final minutes. Senegal and Cameroon, along with Tunisia, Morocco and Ghana, will be the five African representatives, and Drogba claimed they deserved the promotion.

“I hope that one day I see an African team winning the World Cup.

“The World Cup should have more African teams, I am glad that will happen starting from the next edition.

“Egypt and Algeria failing to qualify was expected, the teams who qualified are the best in Africa.”
