Barca wait for Pedri’s test results after injury against Eintracht

Blaugrana star Pedri has proved to be essential for his side up to now, but he is now going to be sidelined because of his hamstring injury.

Barcelona

are waiting for scan results on

Pedri

after the midfielder sustained a hamstring injury in the battle against

Eintracht Frankfurt

on Thursday.

The golden boy had to be replaced by Frenkie de Jong in the battle against the Bundesliga club, who made their way to the semi-finals of the Europa League following their 4-3 aggregate win.

The Blaugrana prospect has been enduring a problem with his left thigh, and Xavi admitted that he is concerned about his injury, saying:

"It's very bad news."

There were more scans on Friday to see the extent of the problem. Although he was out of action for a long time this year, he has suffered another hamstring injury.

Barca’s disappointment this season will be more following their exit from the Europa League.

Pedri has featured in only 12 games in La Liga in the 2021-22 season, being in the starting XI 10 times. Barcelona have come out winner eight times in 10 of those matches in comparison with the nine in 20 matches without the teenager being available.

He netted in his latest

La Liga

game when the Catalans won 3-2 against Levante on Sunday. He found the back of the net three times in 46 games.

Xavi should keep going without his presence when they lock horns with Cadiz on Monday as they want to close the gap there is between them and La Liga leaders Real Madrid (12 points).
