Aston Villa want Coutinho on permanent transfer from Barcelona
Philippe Coutinho of Barcelona is a target for Aston Villa.
According to
Diario Sport
, the Brazilian playmaker is now on loan at Villa Park from
Barcelona, and despite their terrible results, they are still keen to sign him on a permanent basis.
Coutinho's level of performance in the Premier League has pleased
Steven Gerrard, who has spoken about the need for considerable investment in the upcoming summer transfer window. Coutinho is expected to cost Villa approximately €40 million.
After signing from Liverpool for €135 million in 2018, the 29-year-old had a horrible time at
Camp Nou
. In 106 appearances for Barcelona, the Carioca scored 25 goals and added 14 assists. Coutinho has four goals and three assists in eleven matches since joining Villa. He's also been recalled to the Brazilian national team for the World Cup in
Qatar
in 2022. Coutinho has 68 caps and 20 goals to his name.
