Nigeria manager will not risk on injured player of World Cup playoff

Nigeria will have few options to play for the second leg.

Nigeria

coach  Augustine Eguavoen has said he will not take any risks for

Innocent Bonke

and

Samuel Chukwueze

ahead of the crucial World Cup play-off against

Ghana

.

The first leg of play-off match between the Super Eagles and the Black Stars ended in a 0-0 draw, and now the two teams will face each other after 4 days.

During the match, Bonke and Chukwueze were injured and Villarreal Winger was forced to leave the pitch in the 59th minute. Bonke, on the other hand, left the field to leave in the 62nd minute, and now Eguavoen has confirmed that he is waiting for a medical report to decide whether to play for his two stars.

“That’s a very interesting one, they are still under observation. Chukwueze had a scan, the result hasn’t come,”

Eguavoen said.

“Bonke is not participating this evening as well because he had a knock. Our medical team is still working on them, it’s 24 hours before the game, we are not going to risk anything.

“I’m expecting a report from the medical team and once they get that to me by 9 pm tonight we’ll know whether they will be on the pitch tomorrow [Tuesday]. We have enough personnel in the team that can do the job.”
