Everton supporter receives three-year ban after abusing McNeil
An Everton supporter has received a three-year ban after the court found her guilty of abusing winger Dwight McNeil racially.
An
Evertonfan was found guilty after abusing
Dwight McNeil
with racist language following their 3-1 victory over
Burnleyin the
Premier Leagueon September 13.
The 43-year-old woman was taken out of the stadium and they suspended her season ticket.
Everton then stated that they have a
"zero-tolerance policy towards racial abuse and that hopefully [Tuesday's] conviction will underline that point
".
This came after last month’s reports of an Everton fan receiving a three-year ban antisemitic chanting when they were locking horns with Tottenham in November.
The man who was given the ban was shouting slurs towards Spurs fans. The witnesses identified him and he was then arrested and charged when Everton started the investigation.
