Chelsea offer Rudiger his wage demand amid transfer fears

Speculations suggest that an agreement may be reached as the Ligue 1 side and Los Blancos are interested in the German player.

Chelsea

made an offer that is close to

Antonio Rudiger

's £200,000-a-week ($271,000) wage demands in another try to retain his services as the Blues do not want to lose many defenders in the summer.

The Germany international, however, has not yet agreed terms with Chelsea, whereas

Paris Saint-Germain

and

Real Madrid

are keen on penning with him for a large fee as well as tempting salary packages.

Bayern Munich are no longer interested in Rudiger and are eyeing Andreas Christensen now. They eye him as the main target to replace Niklas Sule in the summer.

Chelsea are keeping tabs on Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo now as the Uruguay international’s deal is due to expire in 18 months.

The 21-year-old has come under Blues' radar for the summer transfer window, with Jules Kounde and Wesley Fofana from Sevilla and Leicester also on their list.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are also considering signing Brighton’s Marc Cucurella at wing-back.

The Blaugrana are confident they can take Chelsea captain

Cesar Azpilicueta

’s services away as the Spain international’s contract will end in the summer, just like Rudiger and Christensen’s.

Azpilicueta was quizzed about his future before the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final clash against Al Hilal and he said:

“I'm not going to speak about my future. We are one day before the semi-final of the tournament.

“Of course, I arrived in the summer of 2012 and I didn't have kids. My kids were born in London and you know how I feel about Chelsea. But I am not going to comment on my future.”
