Confirmed: Insigne leaves Napoli for MLS club Toronto FC

According to reports, Lorenzo Insigne has agreed to terms with Toronto FC and that the MLS club will unveil his signing on Monday.

Insigne's stint at Napoli will come to an end at the end of the season when he will relocate to Canada.

Sky Sport Italia indicates that the Italian winger has agreed to terms with the

MLS

club and that an announcement is planned for Monday.

The 30-year-old striker will leave the

Serie A

side at the conclusion of the season before joining Toronto FC in June.

He turned down a contract renewal from Napoli. The Partenopei had offered him a €3.5m-per-year contract, which was less than his current €5m-per-year compensation.

Insigne is expected to sign an €11.5 million-a-year contract in Canada, with €4.5 million in add-ons.

Unlike what has been reported in recent weeks, the numbers are after taxes, meaning Insigne will get over €80 million gross over the next five years.

The Italy international is a Napoli academy graduate who has spent virtually his entire career with the club, scoring 114 goals in 415 appearances.
