Liverpool announces that three players have covid-19

Van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones have tested positive for Covid-19.

In a situation that many clubs in the Premier League are struggling with the Covid-19 outbreak,

Liverpool

has reported that three of their most important players have tested positive for Covid-19, which means that they will miss the Reds’ Premier League clash against

Newcastle

on Thursday.

The club has released a statement confirming that

Virgil van Dijk

,

Fabinho

, and

Curtis Jones

have tested positive for Covid-19, but they have insisted that the further tests have shown no cases other than the trio.

A

statement

from Liverpool reads:

"Fabinho, Curtis Jones and Virgil van Dijk will miss tonight's Premier League fixture against Newcastle United after registering suspected positive tests for COVID-19.

"The three players are now isolating.

"As a result, the entire Reds’ set-up, including all players and staff, were tested for COVID-19 again today with no further positive cases being detected.

"Supporters attending the game at Anfield are reminded of the new entry requirements and protocols in place to protect public safety."

The outbreak of coronavirus has hurt many clubs in the Premier League, forcing the governing bodies to call some games off, and there may be more games getting suspended, so we have to wait and see what will happen in the future.
