Xhaka is a big loss, we'll keep him close to the team – Arteta

Arsenal boss admits Granit Xhaka’s injury is a big blow, but it’s not going to pin them down.

Granit Xhaka

, who has become a key player for

Arsenal

in recent months, suffered a medial knee ligament injury during Sunday's win over

Tottenham

and is going to be out of action for up to three months.

The Gunners’ boss

Mikel Arteta

says Xhaka’s injury is a big blow to the team, however, it’s not going to affect their progress as they have ‘some really good players who can do the job’.

"Obviously, it's really bad news personally for Granit,”

Arteta said.

"He's a big, big loss. We're going to lose him for a while. We'll try to keep him as close as possible to the team.

"He's a strong man; he will use this time to focus on other things, and I'm sure he will be back in the right place when he's back.

"We are here to help him, and I'm sure we'll find some ways around it because we have some really good players who can do the job."
