“They must play better” Vieri urges Juve to improve after Napoli loss

The Turin side have struggled to find their rhythm at the beginning of the new season.

Juventus have not been able to win any of their first three league games of the season. The Bianconeri have struggled to reach their best form upon the return of Massimiliano Allegri, who replaced Andrea Pirlo earlier this summer.

The experienced coach suffered his second

defeat

of the season against Napoli on Saturday.

Alvaro Morata

opened the scoring for the Bianconeri in the 10th minute, but Napoli came back from behind with two goals from Matteo Politano and Kalidou Koulibaly in the second half.

Christian Vieri

says he expects Napoli to get even better when they have a full squad at their disposal.

“I said it at the beginning of the year,”

Vieri told

BoboTV

.

“If they don’t sell the best, they can challenge. And Mertens is still missing.”

Asked about Juventus’ performance, Vieri responded:

“Juve must play better. Period. You can win or lose, it’s part of the game, but they must play better.

“In Naples you can’t play these games. They must win and play good football. And this doesn’t mean being Barcelona or Ajax….

“In teams like Juve you have to give something more, that’s why the shirts are heavy.”

Juventus will play their first Champions League match of the season against

Malmo

on Tuesday. The Bianconeri will then continue their Serie A campaign with a match against AC Milan on Sunday.
