Flick is more than happy with Germany’s 6-0 win over Armenia

Germany clinched a 6-0 victory over Armenia to send them top of Group J and make it two wins from two for their new boss, Hansi Flick.

Thanks to a brace from Gnabry and further goals from Reus and Werner,

the Germans led 4-0 at the break

. However, they didn’t stop there and kept pushing forward in the second half. Hofmann scored his first international goal to make it 5-0 in the 52nd-minute before Adeyemi scoring a debut goal to make it 6-0.

Excited with his side’s performance, Flick told

RTL

"I liked this game but on Wednesday we still have a game in Iceland, so the team can be happy with their performance but we have to stay focused.

"We have seen that this team has an enormous quality, but what is important is to deliver when it counts."

Only Belgium (10) have scored more first-half goals than Germany (eight) in the 2022 World Cup qualification round as Gnabry's quick brace left Armenia with a mountain they never could climb.

"Compared to the game in Liechtenstein we were more efficient, but we still missed a few chances, we could have scored more goals

," said

Gnabry

.

"Against Liechtenstein, we had taken three points, but today we are taking the extra euphoria to go to Iceland.

"Obviously, having led quickly worked in our favor. My two goals are a good feeling when you score and you can help the team."
