Minamino out of action after injury in Japan's training

The Japanese star has returned to Merseyside with an injury.

Takumi Minamino was added to Liverpool's long list of injured and had to leave Japan for England.

While Roberto Firmino had previously suffered a hamstring injury in the game against Chelsea, another

Liverpool

attacking player has been injured to start Jurgen Klopp's problems this season.

Japanese FA

statement

reads:

"Midfielder Takumi Minamino (Liverpool FC) has been withdrawn from the team due to an injury ahead of the Asian final qualifying (Road to Qatar) China national team match.

"We will inform you of additional convened players to replace Minamino as soon as they are decided."

The exact timing of his absence from the field has not yet been announced and the Japanese Federation has not been able to determine the severity of the injury. Minamino was on the bench during Japan's 1-0 defeat to Oman.

Liverpool are hoping the 26-year-old striker will not be out of action for long. In Firmino's absence, the Reds had opened a special account for the Japanese striker, and it remains to be seen how long he will be out of action.
