Vieri believes Juventus didn’t do enough for Icardi settling on Kean

The Bianconeri signed Moise Kean back from Everton as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese left Juventus for a return to Manchester United

while the Old Lady signed Moise Kean from Everton as a replacement for their leading goal-scorer.

Speaking with

La Gazzetta dello Sport

, the former Juventus striker, Christian Vieri, believes the club should have ‘done more’ to sign former Inter striker, Mauro Icardi, from Paris Saint-Germain instead of Kean.

“Before Ronaldo left, I had said that Juventus’ attack is stronger,”

 Vieri said.

“Juve were stronger. Now, I put Inter in front.

“Cristiano’s 25 to 30 goals are gone, those who said it wasn’t going well will be happy. When Ronaldo leaves, there are no better options.

“But someone else must score the goals he scored. I don’t think Kean will be able to get that many, but I think it’s right to give him a whole championship to judge him.

“Icardi is someone who plays little for the team, but he’s a finished by trade, it’s easy for him to score 20 goals. Since there’s a need for those 20 goals, maybe I would have done more to get him.

“But in the market, it’s not always possible to do what seems best.”

Meanwhile,

it’s been reported

that Icardi’s future at PSG depends on Kylian Mbappe’s transfer saga.

According to the report, if Mbappe doesn’t leave Parc des Princes, the Argentinian’s transfer to Serie A would be much easier as Juventus keeps pushing for the player despite signing Moise Kean.
