Hashimoto claims his second gold at the Olympics

A few days after grabbing the men’s all-around title, Hashimoto Daiki claimed another gold on Tuesday.

Japan’s

Hashimoto Daiki

claimed two gold medals in artistic gymnastics at Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The 19-year-old earned gold with 15.033, with Croatia's Tin Srbic (14.900) coming out as second and ROC’s Nikita Nagornyy rounded out in the third.

Having won today, he has become the first Japanese after Gushiken Koji in 1984 to earn two gold medals in one Olympics.

The final was error-filled as all the top three and Brody Malone, the Team USA, came off the bar. Malone made the mistake of going the wrong way on a pirouetting element.

Srbic became the second Croatian gymnast in Olympic history to get a medal, whereas Nagornny's bronze is the third medal in Tokyo following his contribution in leading ROC to team gold and getting bronze in the men’s individual all-around final.
