Roma’s offer for Barcelona’s Clement gets knocked back

The Giallorossi have made an opening bid for their interest in the Blaugrana centre-back, as per reports from Football Italia.

Jose Mourinho

was appointed as

Roma

’s new manager and he aims to sign

Clement Lenglet

but his €15m offer was rejected.

Barcelona

offered the Frenchman the Giallorossi in a swap deal that included

Lorenzo Pellegrini

and cash, but the Italian club have rejected the offer.

However, they are still keen on acquiring Lenglet and Barcelona, who are struggling financially, are willing to cash in on the player for a fee of around €25m.

Lenglet joined the club from Sevilla and is attracting a lot of attention in the Premier League as well, with

Everton

and

West Ham United

eager to get his signature for a loan deal that includes an option to buy.

The Blaugrana, who are trying to reduce their wage bill to be able to offer Lionel Messi a new deal and register their summer signings, would rather sell the 26-year-old.
