Atletico Madrid interested in Gladbach star Jonas Hofmann
La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have been linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach winger Jonas Hofmann in the upcoming transfer window.
According to German outlet Sport Bild, the Roji Blancos are keen to prise the 28-year-old away from the Bundesliga side as
Diego Simeone
looks to strengthen his squad this summer.
Hofmann
has had five-and-a-half successful years as a
Borussia Monchengladbachplayer, and now could be the time for him to move on.
While the report notes that Hofmann does not have any desperate desire to leave Gladbach, and has a contract until the summer of 2023, there are several clubs said to be interested to win his signature.
The report also claims that Premier League sides
Tottenham Hotspur,
Leicester City, and
Chelseaare all interested in signing the German international.
The La Liga giants have expressed interest in Hofmann, as per the report, which claims Hofmann would cost around €15 million.
Gladbach sporting director
Max Eberl
has hinted that the club might have to sell at least one of their top performers to be able to fund moves for new players.
"We're known for wanting and needing to make do with our income,"
he told Sport Bild
.
Hofmann made 33 appearances for Gladbach through the 2020/21 season, racking up eight goals and 13 assists.
