Barcelona have finally decided on Emerson
The Brazilian joined Betis from Atletico Mineiro in 2017 with Barcelona and the Betico each paying €6m in an extraordinary deal that gave the Blaugrana power of triggering a €9m buy option. Registering 1 goal and 4 assists, the 22-year-old fullback has been among Betis’ stars this season.
Due to their agreement, the Brazilian spent a two-year loan spell at Los Verdiblancos with a plan to return to Barcelona for the final three years of his contract. Since the Catalan giants are stocked in both fullback positions, it was rumored the Betico has the chance to keep the Brazilian by buying their partner out of the deal for around £5m.
However, according to
Mundo Deportivo, the legal dealings between the two clubs is in the final stages as Barca are trying to secure the deal before their agreed May 31st deadline.
After playing in World Cup qualifying and the Copa America for Brazil, Emerson will join up with the Blaugrana for pre-season.
