Hitzfeld believes Bayern will soon be interested in Haaland

Former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund manager Ottmar Hitzfeld does not rule out a move for Erling Haaland to Bundesliga Champions.

Haaland

has made a blistering start to his

Dortmund

career since swapping

Red Bull Salzburg

for the Signal Iduna Park in 2020 and Ottmar

Hitzfeld

believes

Bayern

will soon be interested to sign the Norwegian as

Robert Lewandowski

’s successor.

Hitzfeld has told

Funke Mediengruppe

 of Haaland:

"You have to consider yourself lucky to see players like that playing in the Bundesliga.

"It would be a big challenge for Haaland to leave the Bundesliga and assert himself abroad.

"But if he stays in Dortmund a little longer, I assume that he would then be of interest at Bayern again."

Hitzfeld added on the speculation surrounding Haaland this season:

"I hope that Dortmund can keep their players for a long time so that there is competition.

"But you also have to wonder what happens when Lewandowski stops."
