Tottenham to sign Barcelona’s defender
As part of a unique joint transfer agreement between Barcelona and Real Betis, Emerson moved to the Blaugrana from Atletico Mineiro in January 2019.
Due to their agreement, the Brazilian spent a two-year loan spell at Los Verdiblancos with a plan to return to Barcelona for final three years of his contract.
However, according to
Mundo Deportivo, with Ronald Koeman being stocked in both full-back positions, the Betico has the chance to keep the Brazilian by buying their partner out of the deal for around £5m.
Now Spurs have reportedly entered the race for Emerson as they are willing to pay Barcelona’s £25m asking price for him.
