Xhaka was very unlucky, says Leno

Arsenal's goalkeeper defends Xhaka after his horrible mistake against Burnley which cost them two points.

Arsenal

face

Burnley

this afternoon and they were really determined from the beginning to collect all the three points. The Gunners started the game very well and looked very threatening going forward and managed to score the first goal early in the game with a good movement by

Aubameyang

and even a better finish.

Just when it looked like Arsenal are going to win the game easily, a horrible mistake by

Granit Xhaka

gifted a goal to Burnley. He wanted to pass the ball in their own penalty area but instead hit the ball to Chris Wood which went into the net eventually. Leno, Arsenal’s keeper says that Xhaka was just very unlucky.

Leno

told

BBC Sport

when looking to defend Xhaka from any criticism:

“We wanted to build out again because it had been working and it was very unlucky from Granit but it happens.

“There is always risk to play out from the back but this is our style. I think we have more than enough situations where it works to our advantage.”
