March World Cup qualifiers in South America suspended- CONMEBOL stated

CONMEBOL

has affirmed that the two rounds of

World Cup qualifiers

in South America planned for March won't go on. 

The choice comes after a few countries declined to deliver players for the forthcoming international break because of the isolation protocols after traveling. 

Big games, for example, Argentina's face-off against Uruguay and Brazil, should in this way be rescheduled for a later date. 

"

The CONMEBOL board has resolved to suspend the double round of qualifying fixtures for Qatar 2022 scheduled for March,"

the South American governing body declared on Saturday after a meeting the previous day with

FIFA

executives. 

"The decision owes to the impossibility of having all the South American players in good time.

"FIFA will look at the rescheduling of the round, in coordination with CONMEBOL and the member associations. Soon, different options will be studied to stage the matches."

The CONMEBOL March qualifiers are facing the refusal of top clubs in the Premier League, Bundesliga, and La Liga to deliver their Europe-based stars to traverse the Atlantic Ocean. 

Nations, for example, Argentina and Brazil, are on the United Kingdom's limited travel list, which specifies that voyagers from the countries should quarantine themselves for a lengthy period prior to being permitted to roam freely again.

both revolted against the qualifiers, with the last telling columnists:

"If important players - maybe six, seven, eight or nine - cannot play for 10 days, it makes no sense. They are not going to fly."

Brazil, as of now, is on top of the qualifying campaign, having won four games so far, Argentina in the runner-ups with 10 points, trailed by Ecuador, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
