Nacho Monreal may sign an extension with Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad are keen on signing an extension contract with Nacho Monreal beyond the end of the season.
The Spain international
Nacho Monreal
has been a consistent option for
Real Sociedadafter he joined in 2019, signing a two-year contract.
The former Arsenal star has yet to decide on his new deal at Anoeta; however, reports suggest that the two parties are on the verge of reaching an agreement.
“
We are talking. My contract ends at the end of the season and we have already started the negotiations,
” Monreal said.
“
I want to continue here; the club want that too. So, the day we agree on it, I will sign.
”
Monreal has earned a spot in the starting lineup as a left-back under the reign of
Imanol Alguacil
last season and appeared in 28 La Liga matches. He has continued his starting place for the most part of the 2020-21 campaign.
La Real are sitting second in the
Europa LeagueGroup F table and should they keep their rich vein of form, they might be able to return to the
Champions League.
