Svensson: “Szalai demonstrated personality, character, and posture”

Bo Svensson, Mainz’s trainer, stated that he will need his old teammate’s help more as they fight to climb out of the relegation zone.

Adam Szalai

came back to

Mainz

’s starting lineup after a year on Saturday. He has been struggling and working hard on getting back on form with the help of his former teammate

Bo Svensson

and had been back on the action in the last two outings.

The 33-year-old has turned to a starting striker from “an unwelcomed person” under the reign of the new coach tasked to bring the “Mainzer DNA” back.

"

He not only helped us in terms of the game,

" Svensson said, "

he also coached and demonstrated personality, character, and posture. I'm glad that he could prove to some critics that he has some meaning for this team."

"I rate his performance very highly,

" Svensson continued, "

It surprised many, but the people who see Adam every day in training know who he stands for."

The new head coach praised the squad’s general skill after his observation in the training ground. He believes the team has a lot of “dormant talent” which will be useful in the future.
