Southampton retrying Junior Firpo's signing

On 4 August,

signed a 5-year contract with

. He only made 17 appearances for the La Liga side even though he can play at the left-back, center-back, and right-back.

On 28 September 2019, the 24-year-old scored his first goal for Barcelona and the second goal in a 2–0 win against Getafe.

On 31 August 2018, he joined the Spain U21 team and made his debut for the international club in the team's 3-0 win against Northern Ireland.

Followed by Southampton's failure to sign the player during the January transfer window to have the player for the remainder of the season, there have been thoughts on retrying to sign him by Southampton.

The importance of signing him for Southampton is that many players have not been able to play in the matches due to injury.
