‘You just cram them all in there,’ Garcia planning Adelaide clash

Richard Garcia, Perth Glory’s coach, is going to have plenty of strike-force options that it will be difficult to decide who to go for in Friday’s clash against Adelaide United.

Perth Glory

head coach

Richard Garcia

is struggling to “cram” in all of his attacking options after pronouncing that

Andy Keogh

will play in Friday’s battle against

Adelaide United

in the A League.

The striker has not featured in Sunday’s thumping 3-1 victory over

Melbourne City

. However, he has returned to action and ready to play against Adelaide.

Diego Castro, Keogh, Bruno Fornaroli, and Nick D'Agostino are all going to be up for selection in the attack.

D'Agostino met the target four times in four matches in a dazzling start to the campaign while Fornaroli has notched three goals.

Keogh has contributed a number of assists during the first three matches while Castro is back on action after a leg injury he sustained against Melbourne City.

Garcia will have a hard time deciding who plays and who is benched this week.

"

You just cram them all in there,

" he said laughing.

"

It's good to be able to have options. That's something that we've been a bit light on at times.

"We want two great players for every position (throughout the team). That's slowly coming."

With a busy fixture of four games in 2 weeks, Garcia rotated his side heavily and is worried about his players being fatigued.

"

Now it's accumulative fatigue,

" Garcia said.

"

Playing games back-to-back-to-back it takes a little bit longer to recover."

D'Agostino has been criticized by former Glory coach Tony Popovic for not meeting his fitness standards during last year’s lockdown. However, he has turned things around and Garcia has been impressed by his dedication and hard work.

"

His body and the way he's improved has been fantastic,

" Garcia said.

"

And it's also due to our fitness team who have identified things with him and made him focus on certain areas that he probably wasn't focusing on before about his body.

"That's slowly given him the confidence to trust his body a little bit more. He's been able to back up games and he's doing really well.

"He needs to continue to grow, not only on the park but off the park with what he does and how he treats his body as far as in achieving what he needs to strengthen."

Adelaide are seeking revenge following their 5-3 defeat by Glory last month.
