Griezmann: When the ball comes out someone needs to shout

The France international has spoken about Barcelona’s performance in their Supercopa de Espana match against Athletic Bilbao.

Barcelona

were eyeing their first trophy with Ronald Koeman but

Athletic Bilbao

’s solid performance was enough for them to win the match. Marcelino’s team came from behind two times to earn their magnificent 3-2 victory against the Blaugrana.

Antoine Griezmann

scored two goals for the Catalans but was disappointed by the final result.

“How do you think we are?”

he snapped when asked by

Marca

about how the team felt.

“We’re screwed, angry, upset. When you lose a final these are all the bad feelings you have.

“Athletic pressed very well. They gave everything until the last minute, and then what happened. We have made mistakes in our strategy and we’ll have to work on it during the week. We didn’t defend well, we didn’t communicate. When the ball comes out someone needs to shout.”

Lionel Messi

was a doubt for the final as he missed the semi-final match against

Real Sociedad

but he started the match and was involved in the team’s first goal. However, the Argentinian’s performance after the first-half was underwhelming and he showed his frustration later on with a punch that cost him a red card. This was Messi’s first red card in his club career as he punched Villalibre in the back and his action was confirmed by VAR. Barcelona will continue their Copa del Rey campaign with a match against Segunda Division club Cornella on Thursday.
