Lukaku More Fundamental To Inter than Zlatan To Milan, says Zambrotta

Former Rossoneri defender has insisted on Lukaku’s importance for Inter after Conte’s team were defeated by Sampdoria.

Inter

suffered a 2-1 defeat against

Sampdoria

on Wednesday and missed their chance to get to the top of the

Serie A

table. The team were not able to pull off a decent attacking display as their number one striker

Romelu Lukaku

started the game on the bench. The Belgian came on in the second half and Inter managed to compensate for a goal but this was not enough for Conte’s team to escape the defeat. Since joining the Nerazzurri in 2019, Lukaku has developed himself as one of the best strikers in Serie A as he has scored 50 goals in his 71 appearances for the Italian side. In a recent interview with

Rai Sport

Gianluca Zambrotta

has compared Lukaku’s influence on Inter’s game to Zlatan’s presence at Milan’s squad.

“Inter had won eight games before today,

“They concede more goals than last year, it is a fact, but it is also true that they score more.

“Lukaku is more fundamental than Ibrahimovic is to AC Milan.”
