Kevin Akpoguma is out for a couple of weeks due to the injury

Kevin Akpoguma will be unavailable for a couple of weeks due to a muscle and tendon injury.

Kevin Akpoguma

was forced off in the game against

Freiburg

on Saturday as he was suffering from a muscle and tendon injury in his left thigh.

Hoffenheim

then confirmed that the Nigeria international will be unavailable for a couple of weeks along with

Sebastian Rudy

.

“Sebastian Rudy suffered a strain in the inner ligament and bone oedema in his left knee in the game against SC Freiburg. Fortunately, not a more complicated knee injury, as initially feared,” the club stated.

“Kevin Akpoguma sustained a muscle and tendon injury in his left thigh. Both TSG professionals are out for the time being. Get well soon guys!”

Akpoguma joined Hoffenheim in 2013 from Karlsruher but spent most of his time on loan with Fortuna Dusseldorf and Hannover 96.

However, last season he only made appearances for Hoffenheim and they finished the season sixth in the

Bundesliga

.

This season, he has made 19 appearances across all competitions and they are 13th in the Bundesliga table.

He has also made two appearances for the Nigeria national team since he made his debut against Algeria in October and he is expected to be fully recovered before Nigeria’s 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March.
