Celta Vigo captain Iago Aspas sidelined due to injury for a month

The 33-year old attacker was sent off in Celta’s 2-0 La Liga loss against Real Madrid last weekend and he now will have an extended break on the sidelines with a thigh issue.

Aspas

has been ever-present for Eduardo Coudet’s team this season, however, he will now miss a month of six games in the league and Copa del Rey action due to injury.

Celta

will also lack Spanish international, Nolito for the Copa trip to Ibiza and next weekend’s league match at home against Villarreal.

Aspas

’s record of scoring nine league goals in 17 matches in 2020/21 will be missed, both him and Nolito having scored 13 of the club’s 22 league goals this season.

Coudet will change his options in duo's absence, with Santi Mina moving to a central role and Fran Beltran and Okay Yokuslu returning to the starting XI in the future.
