Atletico to sign Arsenal’s full-back as Trippier's replacement

According to the Daily Mail, Atletico are ready to offer Ainsley Maitland-Niles a loan offer in January.

Although

Arsenal

rejected a

£15m

offer from

Wolverhampton Wanderers

for the 23-year-old full-back, he has started only four times in the Premier League during

Arsenal’s

tough season. Wolves went on to sign

Barcelona’s

Nelsen Semedo

instead, but it’s been reported that Atletico is ready to offer him a new way out of the club in January as

Kieran Trippier

was banned for 10 weeks for breaching FA betting regulations.

"There was a lot of speculation going around about that [leaving Arsenal],"

Maitland-Niles

<span style="color:#141414; font-family:times new roman,serif; font-size:12.0pt">

said.

"But ultimately I chose to stay at the club, which I love. I am happy with my decision and I am sure the manager is happy that I stayed as well.

"It is just about cracking on now and focusing on the games ahead. I just had my head focused on football and just trying to play well, keep myself healthy.

"When I get my time on the pitch I just do what the manager asks me to do. I wasn't really focused on any of the speculation going on."

Atletico

currently are sitting at top of the table with 32 points from their starting 13 games as they are enjoying a brilliant season.
