Rooney on Phil Jones rumored move to Derby County

The former Red Devils player has been linked to one of his Ex-teammates, who has been rumored to join Derby in January.

Manchester United

legend,

Wayne Rooney

, refused to talk about the rumored

Derby County

link with the 28-year-old Red Devils defender,

Phil Jones

. The Englishman, who has been out of Solskjaer plans for a while, is expected to aim for a move in the upcoming transfer season.

With the likes of

Harry Maguire

,

Victor Lindelof

,

Axel Tuanzebe

, and

Eric Bailly

on the squad there has been no room for Jones, who hasn’t made an appearance since January.

Though some reports claim that

Rooney

is keen on reuniting with his former teammate, the Derby County player and coach tried to avoid any talks about his first home. When he was asked about the player’s future, Rooney said:

“Phil Jones is a Manchester United player and it is not my job to really speak on him.”

Still

Solskjaer

previously stating that Jones should start seeking another home, said back in October:

“Phil has been injured and had an operation and working really hard to be back, hopefully he'll get fit during December.”

“That was a natural thing when you're injured, you can't be in the squad can you, but he's working really diligently and he’ll be coming back soon.”

According to some reports, other teams including

West Ham

,

Newcastle

, and

Leicester

have also shown interest in Jones.
