Wolfsburg's Gerhardt stalling on a new deal

’s future at the club is not certain. The 27-year-old midfielder’s contract is due to expire by the end of the season and he is hoping for an extension deal.

We are convinced of his ability as a player and believe that he will remain valuable to us in sporting terms,
" Schmadtke said.

The question is whether he assesses it the same way. At the moment, he is not that convinced,
" he continued.
Gerhardt was played in the clash against
Stuttgartafter being absent in five
Bundesligamatches and pulled off a great performance.

He had a really good game,
" Schmadtke admitted.

Not everyone reacts to being in a difficult sporting situation like that
