Rooney’s foundation is backing Childline
On Christmas Day, Wayne Rooney’s foundation contributed £30,000 to Childline.
Dame Esther Rantzen is the founder of this helpline which has given almost 140,000 counseling sessions from April to October. £75,000 has been donated overall to this organization by
Wayne Rooney
’s foundation.
Rooney said: “I
t’s very upsetting to know that there are children out there who are really suffering and might be dreading Christmas.
“The pandemic has had a devastating impact on many young lives and it’s so important that Childline is there for young people when they need it most
.”
Since 2015, the former England captain has been working with the children’s charity NSPCC and so far, £425,000 has been contributed to them.
