Hope I can play more - Robben
Robben hopes he can play more for his club before retiring from football.
Bayern Munich legend Arjen Robben has expressed hope that he can play more games for FC Groningen.
Robben suffered an injury 40 minutes after his first game for FC Groningen and has yet to return to action. He started his football career in FC Groningen and intended to finish his football career at the same club. Now he has expressed hope that he can play more games for his team before retiring.
He said:"
“I just hope I can get back on the pitch. I will give everything for it. The last steps are always the hardest. I had a lot of setbacks. I knew that it would be a big task and a challenge.
“To be honest, the energy has been gone in the past few weeks. Of course it went through my head to stop. This athlete is somewhere in me. A little voice in my head is preventing me from stopping.”
"My career is over. This year is already a bonus and if it works in 2021, it would be great."
