Iniesta eager to watch 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Iniesta was impressed by the facilities at Khalifa Stadium.

Former Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta is eager to watch the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Iniesta, who scored the winning goal for Spain in the 2010 World Cup final and managed to win the trophy, now plays for Japan's Vissel Kobe after a long spell at Barcelona and shining in the team's shirt. He and his team play in the knockout stages of the AFC Champions League East Zone, and the competition is currently underway in Qatar.

Kobe defeated former champions 3-1 at the Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Guangzhou, last night. Iniesta was impressed by the equipment at Khalifa Stadium and now claims that he is looking forward to watching and enjoying the World Cup in Qatar.

"The stadium (Khalifa) was very nice. Of course, I won't be able to play in the next World Cup but I will be there as a spectator,"

he said after the match.

"I'm really looking forward to watching the World Cup in Qatar. I think it will be a wonderful event."

In about two years, the World Cup will be hosted by Qatar. This is the first time a Middle Eastern country has hosted the competition.
