Monchi reacted to rumours that he was close to Barça
Monchi, the sporting director of Sevilla, responded to remarks made by Barcelona board member Javier Bordas that the Spanish manager was close to joining Barça in 2017.
Recognizing young football talents, Monchi established himself as one of the top sporting directors in the world of football.
He told Mundo Deportivo: "Whether I was close or not, I don't know, He talks about 2017, and I was in Seville or Rome. I'd have to look at how many kilometres away I was to know how close I was.

Monchi is known as the main factor in Sevilla's success in Europe. Except for a brief stint in Rome, Monchi has spent the rest of his career in Sevilla.
